Intelligentia Srl has been selected by Kayser Italia S.r.l to perform the Independent Software Verification & Validation (ISVV) of the Boot SW (BSW) running on the PLATO Satellite Instrument Control Unit (ICU). The PLATO ICU BSW, classified with criticality level B, is responsible for the maintenance and the initialization of the ICU Application Software. The ICU BSW development is funded by the Italian Space Agency in the framework of the Italian participation to the PLATO mission.
Kayser Italia S.r.l. is an Italian company primarily involved in the design, development, manufacture and testing of systems and components used for scientific and technological research activities on board of space platforms, including the International Space Station (ISS) PLAnetary.
PLanet Transits and Oscillations of stars (PLATO) is the third medium-class mission in ESA’s Cosmic Vision programme. Its objective is to find and study a large number of extrasolar planetary systems, with emphasis on the properties of terrestrial planets in the habitable zone around solar-like stars.
We are very delighted to contribute to the PLATO mission and we thank Kayser Italia for this opportunity. This project will allow us to apply our expertise in the development process of critical SW applications. As an independent organisation, we will follow the ISVV process as described in the ESA Guide.
As always, we wish you #moreIntelligentiaInYourWorld
