Intelligentia is the solution partner for Chiese a Porte Aperte (Churches with Open Doors), a cultural initiative that currenly is allowing to autonomously visit 23 small churches in Piemonte and Valle d’Aosta regions in Italy, and provide audio-guides during the visit of the major 17 Cathedrals in Piemonte region.
The initiative is sponsored and founded by Consulta Regionale per i Beni Culturali del Piemonte e della Valle d’Aosta and Fondazione CRT.
The service is free to use for the tourist and the App is available for download for both Android and iOS mobile devices. Moreover a dedicated Web Portal has been developed for people having not supported devices (they need to call the free number for validating a booked ticket just before starting the visit).
In visiting the Cathedrals of the circuit the tourist can make use of Bluetooth for auto-starting the right audio-guide related to the in-door position of the user.
When the user is going to visit the small churches in the country-side, he can book autonomously a temporal slot for visiting one of the precious architectural and/or artistic monument thanks to an automatic door-opening mechanism and a fully automatic audio-video expaination of the details (frescoes meaning, architectural details, etc).

Chiese a Porte Aperte is relying on the Cloud infrastructure own by Intelligentia and is making usage of the edge-computing devices produced at Intelligentia for delivering calculation, local computations, and digital distribution of the contents used during the on-site visit.
Everything developed can be adopted and used in other initiatives at regional, national and international context. We can provide a valuable ready-to-use solution implementing the best practices and lesson lernd collected with the Chiese a Porte Aperte project.
